So today I woke up at 7am in a really crappy hotel and took a shower in a poorly maintained shower with fluctuating temperatures. I ate cold biscuits and gravy like a starving beast and piled back into the tiny van with 6 of the weirdest people I've ever met. We drove for a couple more hours and finally reached Kentucky and eventually the caves. Best. Camping. Ground. Ever. Really nice rangers and neat sites. The caves so far are awesome. No bats but apparently there are some really high up places. Not fun. The guide was pretty cool but he got upset when we joined the group late and he had to repeat everything he said before. I'm really enjoying this trip so far even though we had to sit in the van for about 12 hours and it's extremely cold at night and my long johns won't keep my butt warm. I'd so do this trip again if it was with the same people. And I'm happy with my raccoon purchase.
